In a world that no matter how much closer technology allows us to be to one another, there is still so much for us to learn. Joining this class I thought I had a general understanding of what advertising was. Boy was I wrong, to hear that so much thought and legalities are involved before an ad is even show is mind boggling. I always thought that what ever company was being featured was the company that was responsible for doing the ad, obviously not the case. As I was looking and thinking about the many ads that i have seen throughout my life and then just walked around downtown San Jose, I realized, WOW, this planet should be called "advertise" not earth. Everywhere you look there are ads, telephones, cell phones, TV, movies, social media, in your room, bathroom, my god its everywhere. But as Information is important, without the use of ads, we would not know whats out there that could possibly make our lives better or easier.
Anyways the point of this blog is to tell you what I've seen and like or stands out as memorable to be with regards to ads and their agencies. For me my favorite ad is a commercial for Mountain dews Kickstart energy drink. Everytime that I see it, i just can't help but laugh. It was beyond creative and every time I watch their is something that I missed and never saw before. So I looked up to see what agency was responsible for that ad and it was the company BBDO in New York. As soon as you go on to their website the first thing you see is "The Work" they've done thus far. It was awesome to see that a lot of their work involved comedy. This is a company that if I had a chance to work for I think I would like to work with. The minds that they have working their have to some natural comedy in their blood and I think that in of it self would be pretty cool to see.
